Runeforging & 100+ new runes
The headline is Kalguuran runesmithing: over a hundred new runes and soul cores you socket into gear for guaranteed, removable stats — the most beginner-friendly crafting in the game. This tool has datamined all 240 socketables (166 runes plus soul cores, idols and more), each showing its exact effect per slot type.
New runes include elemental-conversion runes and meta-runes that can temporarily grant unique modifiers. Browse them all in the Runes & Soul Cores codex.
Verisium Runeforging & Runic Ward
Monsters from the league's Remnants drop Verisium, a new metal currency that powers Verisium Runeforging. From Act 3 it can also upgrade Kalguuran Unique armours, granting them extra properties.
Runeforging introduces Runic Ward— a new defensive layer, essentially a secondary health bar that absorbs damage. You'll see Verisium currencies in the currency codex.
Remnants & Runic Recipes (the league)
The Runes of Aldur league adds Remnants — objects you inscribe with runes before an encounter. Each Remnant has 2 to 10 slots; more runes mean tougher fights and better rewards, including Runic Recipes that craft specific items or valuable currency. Higher slot counts are rarer and unlock more powerful outcomes.
Remnant crafting is an endgame activity layered on top of the core orbs, essences and omens you'll use everywhere else — learn those first in the Codex.
Since launch: 0.5.1 – 0.5.4 refinements
The league has had several balance patches since 0.5.0. This tool's data is current to 0.5.4 — Return of the Ancients; the changes most relevant to crafting:
- Orb of Sacrifice(0.5.4) — four new currencies (Brutal / Fortified / Profane / Royal) that upgrade a Corruption Enchantment on a Rare item, at the cost of removing a random modifier. One per slot: weapon, armour, jewellery, jewel. They're in the currency codex.
- Runeforging is gentler. It no longer un-Fractures modifiers (0.5.1), now preserves socketed jewels, and high-level non-Unique armour loses roughly 20% less defence for the same Runic Ward (0.5.3).
- Transcendent Alloy can again be applied to Foci and Wands (at lower values than Staves) after a brief removal (0.5.3).
- A new Necrotic Catalyst adds quality that enhances Minion modifiers on Rings and Amulets (0.5.2) — it's in the currency codex.
- Fractured modifiers can no longer be transformed by Fluxes or the Aldur uniques (0.5.1) — once a mod is Fractured, it's locked for good.
- New and rebalanced Staff and Grip of Kulemak desecrated modifiers, plus more reliable Desecrated Currency drops (0.5.3).
